Energy Breathwork

What is Breathwork?

First, we need to separate two terms “Breathwork” and “breath work”. Conscious Connected Breathwork originated in the mid-1960s and is commonly known as “Breathwork”. Breathwork is a powerful tool that enables us to release, heal, and unlock stagnant emotions within our body and mind. One of the main differences is that in Breathwork there is no pause between the inhale and the exhale.

On the other hand, “breath work” is the practice of breath control, known as Pranayama, an ancient Yoga practice.

Among the pioneers of this New Age of Breathwork is Leonard Orr, the founder of Rebirthing Breathwork. Throughout the years, new modalities and hybrids of different methods have been created; among them is my educational background, Clarity Breathwork.

Through the practice of Breathwork, we can lead our mind to higher states of consciousness. Every session is different for every single person but the breath will take you exactly where you need to be in order to heal from events that happened in your life or that are still happening in the present.

What is Energy?

“If you want to understand the Universe, think of Energy, Vibration, and Frequency” – Nicola Tesla.

Everything in this universe is energy and all this energy vibrates at different frequencies. In simple terms, vibration is the motion; frequency is the speed; and energy is the ability to work or do something. Every action/activity we do in our lives takes energy. Our energy shifts throughout the day and throughout the seasons in our life, which means there is a need to find balance.

In order to create equilibrium we need to learn to adapt and accept. We crave to create balance and for that to happen we need to understand that balance is the notion that there is positive and negative energy within a space. We need “negative” vibrations in our life in order to grow, to become wise, and to appreciate what we have. That does not mean we need to live in despair, but create a set of tools to help us navigate through those emotions.

What is Energy Breathwork?

Energy Breathwork was developed circa 2016 after years of studying and working under the mentorship of amazing teachers. Energy Breathwork is a hybrid method of Clarity Breathwork practices, Thai Bodywork, and an Intuitive Approach to the behaviour of the Chakras (Energy Wheels).

Kinematic Yoga

Kinematics is the study of the motion of mechanical points, bodies, and systems without consideration of their associated physical properties and the forces acting on them. There are three basic movements in the kinematics of human movement

  • Vertical Motion
  • Horizontal Motion
  • Projectile Motion

When Kinematics is applied to the body, it helps us to understand the independent motion of joints and body segments. When applying to the pose/asanas we practice in Yoga, we are able to breakdown poses and work in the biomechanics of the body parts that are required to create the movement. This style helps us to focus on alignment, posture, and preventing injuries; it allows us to move in an intelligent way to gain strength, flexibility, and a greater range of motion.

Below we are taking a common pose, Cat-Cow (Bitilasana), and will de-construct it to create a segmentation of movement using the three basic motions. We will then re-construct this beginner pose in a deeper way.
